In this Greek port city, experiences that seemed simple or random, were in fact memorable – the sun setting in the Aegean sea, seeing Olympus mountains on the horizon, or a conversation about faith and religion inside Hagia Sofia church of Thessaloniki.

Madrid days started with traditional churros with hot chocolate and strong coffee (cortado) at Chocolaterías San Ginés, like a Madrileño, had sunshine & tapas for lunch, and ended with ‘tinto de verano’ drink, reminding me of the summer I thought was over, with flamenco guitar in the background.

Since I visited Prague twice, once in winter weather, and in summer, I feel I saw and photographed two different contrasting cities, both beautiful. I explored so far only districts Praha 1 and Praha 2. May sounds as Hunger games, but in fact Prague is more bohemian than entertaining, more Kafka than Hollywood.

In a December morning before Christmas in 2017 I was drinking my coffee at Café Demel, where it smells phenomenal (Kohlmarkt 14, 1010 Wien). The Christmas atmosphere compliments the charm of the city. It was unexpectedly lovely, but I’ll take it.
Chocolate museums, chocolate fair, caffeine fix in Brussels and final thoughts. Conclusion – balanced diet is having chocolate in both hands.
Germany, a place that now both feels like home and somewhere foreign. I wrote a weekend ritual so I can remember.
