A beautiful spring garden in Lisse, in western Netherlands, visited years ago, while I was living in Brussels. A place not far from Amsterdam, called Keukenhof, also known as the most famous flower park in Europe, and largest tulip garden.
Most photogenic city in the Netherlands must be Amsterdam, but the rest of this country is definitely also worth visiting.
Keukenhof is a huge park with flower fields, and you can definitely spend hours there admiring colorful tulips. Is what we did when we discovered it, also in May, a few years ago. Even during occasional rain, with an umbrella in one hand, and the map of the garden in the second. Because besides Dutch tulips, there was variety of other flowers, such as lilies, orchids and beautiful smelling hyacinths.

Resources for the journey
Good to know – According to their official website, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted in Keukenhof, on a surface of 26 hectares.
A short train ride from Belgium, train ticket using the Dutch Rail services. During Keukenhof season there is also a direct bus from Amsterdam airport. Plus, the official website of Keukenhof gardens offers information on program, tickets and visitors hours.
